Scrap Fever at Georgie's

The Scrap Fever December meeting was at the beautiful home of our member Georgianna...."Georgie". She lives in a magical home well, it appears magical at Christmas time. We all brought a treat to share and then we toured her wonderful Christmas decorations which included several red and green quilts. We had show and tell as usual and some members have their latest Scrap Fever project well under way or completed. Mine are still just in the preliminary stages. I got some great setting ideas so I am glad my blocks are not finished yet.

John showed his Pennants quilt.

And the kit quilt he made in Christmas colors.

John.
(I think) Claire made this Red, White and Blue beauty.
Claire made this flannel quilt with a Christmas twist.
Claire brought her Friendship Star quilt to show those who didn't get to see it last month. She said she is feeling better so the quilt must have healing powers.
This is a spectacular quilt made by Georgie.
Wonder applique border of cherries.
Another one of Georgie's quilts.
This is Georgie's top made for our most recent Scrap Fever project. She set her blocks in a star pattern and used the left over pieces to create a lattice and unique border. We all just love her setting.
Ruby F. made this sweet quilt for a niece.
Another Scrap Fever project top is finished. This is the original pattern we used to plan our project. We all exchanged 100 6.5 inch squares of fabric in autumn colors.
Mary showed this Christmas quilt.
Nancy has a few of her Scrap Fever blocks together. She used the Jacob's Ladder pattern which is a nine patch instead of the four patch Jewel Box design. Another good alternative.
Louise made this SANTA table runner/wall hanging.
Up close.
Louise made this small quilt from scraps.
Norine made this quilt from Aunt Gracie fabrics.
Norine made this quilt with her Wednesday group. Hand quilted too!
Carole showed a Christmas quilt she made a few years ago.
A display on the fireplace mantel.
A collection of angels.
Our treats were yummy and we all enjoyed visiting with one another.
A nativity scene on the china cabinet.
A Christmas Village scene.
Above the kitchen cupboards were a collection of angels.
A beautiful red and green quilt. It reminds me of one I made for my sister several years ago.
Above an armoire.
The family room even has Christmas plaid sofas.
These kitchen cupboard tops were decorated with Georgie's collection of Santas.
One wall in the kitchen.
Everywhere possible, there were wonderful Christmas scenes.
Our hostess, Georgie.
The entry way to Georgie's home looks like the entry to a fancy inn.

We found out today that Tiger Woods may be a great golfer but he is merely an average man who can't be trusted to keep a promise. Quite disappointing.........who next?

Great group pics from the meeting, only no pictures of all the wonderful food people brought. And yes, looking at the pictures makes me want to sew all day.

I agree --- seeing these quilts can inspire you to take off in a different direction. I want to live at Georgie's!! It must take days to decorate. ...and, yes, I want to sew, sew, sew, too!! Thanks for sharing all the wonderful pictures.

What a fun day you had! Thanks for sharing pics. Made me feel like I was invited too...and yes, we are all only human and we all make mistakes. What we do to correct those mistakes is what's really important in our life here on earth. Have a great holiday!
