And She's Gone.....Summer's Gone

"Summer Soft" by Stevie Wonder.....from "Songs in the Key of Life"
Summer soft...
Wakes you up with a kiss to start the morning off
In the midst of herself playing Santa Claus
She brings gifts through her breeze
Morning rain...
Gently plays her rhythms on your window pane
Giving you no clue of when she plans to change
To bring rain or sunshine
And so you wait to see what she'll do
Is it sun or rain for you
But it breaks your heart in two
When you find it's October
And she's gone
And she's gone
Summer's gone
Taking with her summer's play
Winter wind...
Whispers to you that he wants to be your friend
But not waiting for your answer he begins
Forcing dangers 'way with his breeze
Morning snow...
Plans to have a winter ball for you to throw
But just where or when he never lets you know
If it's snow or clear days you'll find
And so you wait to see what he'll do
Is it sun or snow for you
But it breaks your heart in two
Cause you've been fooled by April
And he's gone
And he's gone
Winter's gone
You find it's October
And she's gone
And she's gone
Summer's gone

I realized last Sunday morning that my garden was saying goodbye to summer so I took a few photos for your enjoyment.
Summer blew away late Sunday evening.....the wind kept blowing her away all day on Monday and Tuesday too.
Pink Anemone up close.
Pink Anemone

Beauty Berry
The brick edging I installed this summer to help define my back garden.

The Limelight Hydrangea are now blushing as the cool temperatures have arrived.

One of many leaves that are falling from my Sugar Maple.

Perfectly named Sedum "Autumn Joy" has deepened in color from the cool night temperatures. The squirrels are burying nuts and goodies for winter.
The Morning Glory still opens in the sun despite the fact that frost is on its way.

Stevie said it so well...................
But it breaks your heart in two
When you find it's October
And she's gone
And she's gone
Summer's gone

The brick line looks really nice --- as does the rest of your garden, even tho it is saying "goodbye". Nice to have you back blogging.

I will pick the last in my garden this morning - 2 butternut squash. Carrots can stay underground for a little while longer. I have just a few flowers left - animones, asters, mums, etc. The deer just ate the impatiens in the front yard!!!
Yes...even the weather is saying Fall is here.....

The Pink Anemone's are beautiful. Looks like a quilt in the making! Too bad we didn't have this photo for MQAI art of nature this year! Keeping my fingers crossed you'll be back to work!!
