Circles & Curves at Okemos Library

Today was the opening reception for the latest quilt exhibit at the Hope Borbas Okemos Public Library. Linda and Ruth and I hung about 24 quilts the other day and they look spectacular. All of the quilts have curves and circles in them. Most are brightly colored. The exhibit will remain on display for the month of March.

I was happily surprised to see Margaret Mead Turnbull at the opening reception. She is a watercolor artist/teacher and former neighbor from my childhood. She has featured many of my quilts as backdrops in her paintings. Here is one, she titled it Cindy's Quilts (no that's not me on the quilts):

Key Lime and Raspberry Pie by me. This is one of my favorite quilts. It won third place at Sauder Village Quilt Show a few years ago. It is hand pieced and machine quilted.

Ruth made the top quilt and Linda made the bottom quilt. These were made for the Sauder Village Quilt Show challenge a few years ago. They had to use Asian fabric and include curves in their piecing.

One of my little quilts is displayed in the entry way of the library, Quilter's Universe. It was purchased by the head of the Okemos Library, I am so thrilled!!!
