More Quilt Retreat By The Lake III

As you can imagine, we all spent lots of time bonding with our sewing machines and cameras at the retreat. We hung our completed projects on the second floor railing and draped them over the living room floor and furniture each evening so we could all get a good look at our handy work. Our design wall which we store on sight is also helpful in displaying our works in process.

Get ready for more of the projects and quilts that we made on the four day retreat. Pat and her camera.
Chris and her camera.
Lisa and her camera.
Linda made this quilt for her granddaughter Allison. She enjoyed it all except the heart blocks which were boring. It is beautiful. Allison is such a lucky girl to have a talented grandmother who makes wonderful quilts and costumes and clothes and purses and .........
Linda started this quilt earlier this year and worked on it at Quilt Retreat II. She started machine quilting it at Quilt Retreat III.
Linda made this Key West quilt using fabrics from friends in Key West. WOW!!!
The center block is a piece of batik fabric. The design is in the fabric and not pieced as it may appear.
Linda made this tote bag with the adjustable handle. I can't wait to make one for myself soon.
Another view of the tote bag.
Linda made this quilt using fabric from a jelly roll pack. It will be a donation to Elle's Place.
Lisa whipped up this way cool quilt using Jane Salesman fabrics. We all helped her plan out the layout but her original idea was the winner.
Lisa finished her small quilt for a donation to Solar Circle. Judy called me this evening asking if we had any more little quilts for Solar Circle fundraising and Lisa's was ready just in time.
Lisa worked on machine quilting this wonderful circle quilt. She did a great job. Check out the fantastic machine work in the next picture.
I am so impressed with her patience in machine quilting all the circles in this way.
Chris altered Linda's tote pattern and added the white vinyl to the bottom of this diaper bag for a friend expecting a daughter soon.
Another view of the diaper bag including the special bottle pocket.
Chris started out the weekend with this Trip Around the World baby quilt.
Chris used these autumnal colored Kaffe Fassett fabrics to make two quilt tops. They were the perfect colors for the weekend.
Chris made this camp shirt from fabric she calls Bunnies on Acid. Their eyes are kinda weird looking. She is going to make a small quilt with the left over fabric and found the perfect fabrics to use when she visited the local quilt shop at the Pig Farm nearby the retreat.
This is the second quilt with the same Kaffe Fassett fabric as the one pictured above. The pattern allows you to make two quilt tops from the same fabrics. I would like to try these quilts using Asian fabrics...maybe a project for Quilt Retreat IV.......
Linda trying to hide behind a jelly roll of fabric.
Pat made several children's pillowcases and this lighthouse quilt top.
A better view of the lighthouse quilt. On Sunday, Pat was seen cutting blue and gold fabric for a U of M quilt for her son. We harassed her as best we could. Go Green!!!
Pat, on her way home on Sunday.
Debra machine quilted this basket quilt that was a going away gift from her Cadillac quilt friends.
Well that concludes the Quilt Retreat by the Lake III show. I hope you enjoyed yourself, we did!!
Time for The Housewives of Orange County....I am hooked on that show......gotta go.

I think Chris' Kaffe Fasset quilts are the same pattern I used with oriental fabrics --- worked on it at Deb's. It was fun to cut and sew and end up with two quilts. Great pictures --- not a dull quilt in the bunch!
