Eleanor
The vet called me today to let me know that Eleanor most likely has bone or soft tissue cancer. The MSU experts believe that a soft tissue carcinoma is possible and may have metastasized to the bone and caused severe damage. Since her illness seemed to come on acutely they think she recently broke the hip bone that was weakened by the cancer and that it was not a result of being hit by a van a few years ago.
Although she seems somewhat better I noticed that when she limps around her hip doesn't seem to be connected and she really struggles to walk. She is still just eating and sleeping. Somehow she climbs the stairs and also gets up when she hears the food container being opened.I am in the process of making the big decision. I don't want to put her through the trauma of a biopsy or other surgery. I spent some time with her again this evening and it is obvious that she is not getting better but she still likes to eat her treats.
It is difficult to photograph black cats, but the new camera does a great job. Here are some pictures of my Eleanor kitty.
