Its feeling like winter is on its way this week. The weather forecasts are calling for a slight warming trend in a few days. I think we are still due for an Indian Summer. The leaves on my Sugar Maple have gone from a lime green to gold to a bright yellow. There are still lots of leaves on the tree but the lawn is carpeted with gold. More raking will be needed in the next few days. Hmm....my nephews will be in town on Saturday, I wonder if they would like to earn some spending money????
I made my last trip to the Allen Street Market today. I got another bunch of leeks to freeze for soup making in the winter and some cabbage and leaf lettuce. I will have to survive on produce from far away through the winter. I am still thinking about planting a vegetable garden in the spring.
Eleanor seems to be perking up somewhat. I bought a roasted chicken at the grocery store and she smelled the chicken and came upstairs this evening. She didn't stay long and ran back to her bed in the basement. I spent some time feeding, petting and brushing her this evening and she doesn't growl when I touched her hip. Maybe her pain is subsiding.
Muffin has been acting strangely, he knows his mother is ill. He either cries at me until I pick him up or he goes to another room and cries for me to come to him. When I pick him up he purrs very loudly. He has me so well trained.
I added the binding to Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes tonight. It is almost finished.
Here are more quilts from the Grand Rapids Quilt Show: For some reason Blogger is uploading pictures in reverse order. It is quite frustrating!!!!!! I am not going to take the time to reorder them so the up close may be before the whole picture of the quilt, sorry.

Up close.

Nice Round Robin Quilt.

Good colors.

Up close, great machine quilting.

Stack and Whack.

Love the border on this one.

Although this won a ribbon, I think the border is the best part.

The design is a little mottled on this one but it looks good.

Someone I know from GR made this one. Marie McD. She used antique blocks. Unique setting.

Michigan. I love the different colors of the counties on the map.

3 D flower pots.

A brown one for Daisy.

Up close. I think it is a bit over embellished. What do you think?

New York Beauty. Karen Stone pattern I believe.

Celtic.

Real antique kimonos were used to make this one. Linda it looks like something for you to make!!

A Whale.

Kimono.

Use up all those scraps. Maybe a potential Scrap Fever project.

Wild one.

Busy.

I took this picture for Ruth. She likes birds.

I love the checkerboard border using a batik multicolored print. Very unique look.

A small brown quilt for Daisy.

The big stitch quilting is very effective in this wall hanging. Smaller quilting would not have shown up as well.
Tomorrow is a big day for one of my nephews.
