For dessert we had the best of all.................Cherry pie!! Lisa made the pie from the cherries she and I picked from my North Star sour cherry tree. The pie was not only beautiful it was delicious. Lisa made a very flaky crust and the cherries were so tasty. I will definitely have to pick more cherries.
After dinner we enjoyed the cool evening air on the patio and then gathered our folding chairs and bug spray and walked a short way to our favorite spot at the Tollgate ponds. The bench at our favorite spot was not occupied so some of us got the best seats. Tish and Sophie brought their cameras to take photos of the fireworks. Before the main fireworks began we saw lesser fireworks from neighbors, the Lug Nuts stadium and the golf course. At times we could see fireworks from every direction. The main fireworks began around 10:15 pm and they were spectacular.
This is a picture from the internet of fireworks similar to the ones we saw.
More from the internet.
We had unobstructed views of the main fireworks. We all got to see our favorites and we ooohed and aaahed for the whole presentation. We even saw the reflections of the fireworks in the pond. We laughed as the bull frogs croaked along with the display.

It was a nice evening spent with friends. What more could I want.

Thanks for the fun Fourth dinner at your house last night, Cindy!
You're right --- it couldn't have been a nicer day! ...I think it's the best 4th. we've had in years. Lisa is ready for food competition and the patio and garden were perfect for your picnic. Glad it all went well.
