RAIN AT LAST/Habitat Lansing meeting

Today was a cloudy rainy day and one that we have needed for quite some time. I am not sure if the rain arrived via Gustov, Hanna, Ike, Canada or the melting ice from Alaska, but it arrived. I hope it will last a few days and then slowly go away. We also got some cooler weather and my kitties were able to enjoy the open windows and cool breezes. Summer is coming to an end and the darkness arriving before I get home for dinner is one key but the other key is the return of allergies. Yes....the sneezing, watery eyes, sniffles, general malaise and tired feeling. Thank you God, for Allegra and Diphenhydramine!!!!

On a brighter note, Kwame is "done" , and as Ann Richards would say, "Put a fork in him." Now Detroit can begin to heal and become a vibrant musical Motown that it should be and the media will have to find another misbehaving man to make headlines. I am sure there are more out there. Who will be next? I just couldn't resist sounding off on this one.

I went to another Habitat committee meeting this evening. Our Community Relations committee is working hard on our big fundraising dinner, Harvest for Habitat, that takes place on Sunday, September 28th at 5:30 pm. I am going and I would really love to sit with a table of seven friends or coworkers. Ruth is also going, so only six more people are needed to fill my table. Please let me know if you can join us.

Do you need any more door prizes? I could put together a basket of fair-trade items from my church.
