Tonight was our Habitat Lansing Board of Directors meeting. We had some surprises. Our board president, second vice president and secretary resigned their positions and this required a mid-year election of new officers. I accepted the position of secretary. I had to write fast and try my best to take good notes. Just what I need, more time at the computer but it is for a good cause.
I also learned that our International House of Habitat fundraiser from two weeks ago generated over $700 in donations. Not bad for our first try at a new type of fundraiser. I will have to schedule one at my home for the winter. You are all invited. Stay tuned.
I also want to encourage you to attend the Harvest for Habitat Gourmet Dinner. The event is on Sunday, September 28, 2008 at 5:30 pm at the Marriott in East Lansing. Advance tickets are required and can be purchased through the Habitat Lansing website or by calling 517-374-1313:
