I did take a break to receive a phone call from Margaret Meade Turnbull. She is the wife of my now retired dentist and a watercolor artist and art instructor. She wants to borrow some more of my quilts to use as backdrops in her paintings. This is so exciting to me because paintings of my quilts will be featured in galleries all over Michigan. She has created many works with my quilts and other quilts in the background.
Here is a picture of "Cindy's Quilts II". She painted this several years ago and it shows my charm quilt, wild goose chase and Country Christmas quilt. The woman on the quilt is not me, but I wish it was.
Cindy's Quilts II by Margaret Meade Turnbull. I use this picture as the background on my computer screen.I did a little garden clean up this afternoon and planted my herbs in pots on the patio. I thought you might want to see more of what is blooming in the garden lately. Lots of yellows and oranges this week. The blues and purples are coming to an end. These are California poppies. I planted seeds many years ago and they continue to reseed.
They really add a hot punch to the garden. I love the oranges and yellows.
I can't recall the name of this plant but they get very tall and have many small daisy type yellow flowers on them. I got them from my friend John at one of the West Side Garden Tour plant sales a few years ago. Unfortunately, the garden tour is being cancelled for this year. I always look to forward to helping John with the plant sale. The tour and plant sale are a fundraiser for Advent House Ministries. Hopefully the garden tour will happen again next year.
This Russian Sage is growing tall. It will have wispy purple flowers eventually. I have a few different Russian Sage plants and this one usually gets shaded by other plants. I hope it has a better chance this year. Behind it are my neighbors daylilies.
My Coreopsis has just started to bloom. The sun was almost too bright to take a good picture of these flowers.
The Ostrich Ferns in the shade garden are growing tall. I hope they spread eventually.
The Blue Angel hosta are starting to bloom. I usually cut the flowers but might leave them this year to see if they seed new plants.
Frances Williams hosta is growing tall behind the soon to be gone Bleeding Heart.
The Anna Belle hydrangea has lots of blossoms.
The branch of the smoke tree that fell last November has sprouted a vigorous growth of new branches. I love the purple color of the new growth.

I went back and read your previous entries --- I think your friend Rex is too young to be Janice Miller's brother --- imagine, two Rex Miller's in the same town. The garden is looking lovely --- makes me wish I spend more time in mine.
